Our antelope hunts take place on state lands and private ranches. Antelope hunts take place from August thru October for both draw hunts and land-owner permit hunts. Mule Deer hunt in New Mexico with Deadman Spring Outfitters. We offer archery, muzzleloader, and rifle mule deer hunts. Our New Mexico mule deer hunts are available from late October through mid-January. Our mule deer rifle hunts start in late October and go through mid-November, during the preseason rut. Our bow hunts run from January 1st-15th, which is typically the end of the rut. A majority of our deer hunts take place in the Gila National Forest, BLM and State Lands in Catron County New Mexico. DMSO ensures a challenging and rewarding deer hunt that caters to both novice and experienced deer hunters alike.

Deadman Spring Outfitters also offers Coues deer hunting opportunities which are a unique and challenging adventure. The specific dates for Coues hunting in New Mexico can vary by zone and hunting method. Typically, archery season is in September and January, muzzleloader late September through early October, and rifle is September 1st through January 31st. These elusive and highly sought-after deer inhabit mountainous regions, providing both a physically demanding and rewarding hunt. Elk hunting in New Mexico is an exciting and challenging adventure that offers the opportunity to pursue some of the largest and most majestic bulls in the country. Weather you prefer hunting in the rugged mountains, the rolling hills, or the open plains, we can find your ideal elk hunting spot in New Mexico. A majority of our elk hunts take place in the Gila National Forest, and our ranch sits in the heart of the Gila in GMU 16 A. We will also hunt elk in other areas of New Mexico to meet our client’s preferences. We also have access to hunt on private ranches throughout the state. Our archery elk hunts take place during the month of September when the bulls are typically rutting and are very vocal during this time of year. Thus, this is a very popular hunt as it is one of the best times to score a trophy bull elk. Our archery hunts sell out fast as we only have a limited number available spaces each year. Our rifle and muzzleloader elk hunts take place in October and our late season elk hunts in November.

We also offer late season cow hunts which are a fantastic option for hunters looking to experience elk hunting without the pressure of pursuing trophy bulls. These hunts are typically more affordable and offer a high success rate, making them ideal for beginner and intermediate hunters. Our cow elk hunts take place in early to mid-December. These hunts provide an excellent opportunity to stock up on delicious, free-range meat, as an average cow elk can yield 200-300 pounds of meat.

Enjoy the spring in the west with Deadman Spring Outfitters and add Merriam’s to your North American turkey slam. The state's diverse terrain, ranging from high mountain forests to expansive grasslands, provides ideal habitat for the Merriam's wild turkey. The hunt season typically begins in early April and extends through mid-May, which is the peak breeding season for turkeys, and you are likely to hear a lot of clucking, gobbling and yelping as the turkeys become more vocal and active during this time. In New Mexico, during the spring turkey season, hunters are allowed to obtain two turkey tags. This means you can hunt and harvest up to two bearded turkeys.
